At 2:39am on May 6, 2010, Kirkville Car 1, Car2 , Car 3  Engine 3, Rescue 1 and Squad 2 , Fayetteville Truck 1, Minoa Engine 11, East Syracuse Rescue 1 for RIT were dispatched  to 8328 Poolsbrook Road for a Reported  house fire.  On arrival of Kirkville Car 3 he gave a signal 99 for a 3 story residential  with heavy fire side 4 from the attic and 2nd floor  and requested an additional Engine Company. Fayetteville Car 1 arrived and took Command and Kirkville Car 3 had operations.  Kirkville Engine 3 was the first due Engine Company  who secured a water supply and stretched a line to the second floor followed by the crew of Minoa Engine 11 shortly behind and Fayetteville Truck1 crew started to vent the structure. A second alarm was struck bringing in North Chittenango Engine 3 , Bridgeport Squad and Lycnourt Engine1, and Manlius Squad 5 to the scene.  Lyncourt Engine 1 brought in the secondary water supply to feed to Fayetteville Truck 1.  After inside just for a few minutes the conditions continued to deteriorate and units went to a quick defensive attack to knock the bulk of the fire down.  Crews then went back in for overhaul and salvage. All units were clear at 0800 hrs 

 It is believed the house was struck by lightning. . All occupants made it out of the house safely and no firefighters were injured during the incident, however, three cats unfortunately died in the fire. Here are news reports from NewsChannel9 and the Syracuse Post-Standard
